Nouveau boîtier US en carbone moulé
Les Glide V3 sont équipées de notre nouveau boîtier US en carbone moulé, développé en interne par Takoon. Grâce à leur rigidité incomparable, ces nouveaux boitiers apportent une connexion au foil inégalée, une parfaite transmission des efforts et un feeling sans pareil.
Nos nouveaux box de foil sont fabriquées en carbone préimprégné, polymérisé à haute pression et haute température dans un moule en acier. Ce processus permet d’obtenir un boîtier avec des fibres longues de carbone bien compactés, ce qui le rend tout simplement indestructible et ultra rigide.
Grâce à cette construction, si l’on compare nos boitiers carbone aux boitiers classiques comme les Futures, le gain de rigidité et de robustesse est considérable. En effet, généralement fabriqués en plastique injecté chargé avec de la fibre de verre en fibres courtes, les boitiers classiques peuvent présenter de la déformation à l’effort. Sur l’eau, cela se ressent sous forme d’un temps de latence dans la réactivité du foil, que ce soit pour le pumping, pour carver, ou pour les manœuvres. Avec nos nouveaux boîtiers carbone, la transmission des efforts est instantanée et la connexion est ultra rigide.
Plus longs, ces nouveaux boitiers donnent beaucoup plus de liberté de placement de votre foil. Ils viennent en 2 tailles: 33 cm et 38 cm en fonction de la taille de la planche. Ils sont ainsi plus longs de 6 cm et 11 cm que les boîtiers futurs. Ainsi, vous pourrez affiner vos réglages, afin de trouver la position personnelle qui vous convient le plus.
Ils bénéficient aussi d’une double ouverture par rails pour un montage plus rapide : plus besoin de démonter entièrement vos boulons de la platine, il suffit simplement de desserrer les vis, de faire glisser le foil dans les ouvertures et de resserrer les vis et hop, le tour est joué.

The Wing VX Pro is delivered without handles, giving you the freedom to personalize your setup. You can choose between soft handles, rigid carbon handles, or the Boom V2, all available as options.
One of the great advantages? If you are already a customer of the brand, you can reuse your existing handles or wishbone without having to buy a new set. Moreover, you don't have to buy a set for each wing, which helps you save money and avoid accumulating unnecessary handles at the bottom of your bag.
Our fixations are compatible with all these types of handles and allow for a quick swap in less than two minutes. An M6 key, provided in your wing’s bag, will allow you to make these adjustments easily.
Why multiple options? Because every rider has their own preferences depending on their style and the conditions they ride in. There is no universally better system than another. At Takoon, for example, we prefer soft handles for waves, or a rigid handle at the front and a soft one at the rear. But we mostly chose not to impose a single vision: each rider has their own feeling and choice.
The different options:
Soft textile handles: An excellent compromise between flexibility and rigidity. Perfect for waves and challenging conditions, they absorb gusts and reduce shocks with the board. Ideal for riders prone to tendonitis.
Full carbon rigid handles: Offer ultra-precise control during maneuvers and jumps. They are lightweight, less bulky than the boom, and reduce the risk of impact with the board. Perfect for freestyle and freerace.
Rigid handle at the front + soft handle at the back: A highly appreciated setup for freeride and waves, combining precision and comfort. Definitely worth trying!
Full carbon Boom V2: Offers an intuitive hand placement and enhanced rigidity of the central strut. Ideal for freestyle, racing, or those looking for a windsurf-like feel.

Shape
The major difference between the VX and the VX Pro is the thickness of the leading edge. About 5% to 10% thinner depending on the sections, the VX Pro will offer you better performance, as less drag means more power. This reduction in thickness is possible thanks to its construction in UPE Project 85 fabric from Dimension-Polyant. This extremely rigid material can withstand high inflation pressures. As a result, we can achieve much greater rigidity with a UPE Project 85 bladder than with a Dacron leading edge of the same section.

Materials
As for the sailcloth, the panels closest to the leading edge are made from 54g/m² Triple Ripstop, a lightweight and rigid material. Three large-diameter fibers reinforce the fabric at regular intervals in two 90° axes. This mesh network helps prevent tears from spreading and also helps prevent fabric deformation.
The middle and trailing edge panels are made from a heavier, more robust sailcloth. We use the Heavy Double Ripstop Canopy of 85g, providing optimal shape retention for consistent performance even after extended use.
Our bladders are made from thick 80 micron TPU for increased durability. The bladders themselves and all accessories are thermo-welded to withstand high pressures.

The VX Pro wing can be inflated to a relatively high pressure, thanks to the use of UPE Project 85 material from Dimension-Polyant. We recommend a maximum inflation of 10PSI. However, this is a wing where you can adjust the inflation pressure based on your preferences. By decreasing the pressure, the VX Pro will have a bit more flexibility, be more tolerant in gusts, and offer a bit more comfort, while still being more rigid than a “classic” Dacron wing.
