Nouveau boîtier US en carbone moulé

Presentation

Looking for your first wingfoil board? Discover our new board: the Cruise!

The Cruise is the ideal board to discover the practice of wingfoil. Reassuring and voluminous, you will have no trouble making your first tacks. Thanks to its ease of take-off, you will quickly discover the pleasures of flight on a foil board.

You will be comfortable, even when stationary, thanks to the maximum stability offered by the Cruise. With this board, take-offs require very little technique, and you'll be flying before you know it. Likewise, landings are smooth and you can work on your maneuvers without systematically falling.

Scalable, the Cruise is a board that will allow you to progress quickly until you pass your first maneuvers and even do your first wingfoil surfing. Its compact and wide shape will make it easier for you to learn and will bring you real comfort in flight, with well-tolerated bumps and a feeling of foil under control.

Even if it's a board for beginners, the sensations are present, and you will quickly become addicted to it. Thanks to its full carbon vacuum infusion construction, a technique that comes to us from the aerospace industry, the Cruise is extremely rigid. It's a lively, responsive board that responds precisely to your support.

During your first steps in wingfoil, you do not need footstraps (sold as an option in the Accessories section). The Cruise, with its EVA pad, will offer you comfort and grip to progress and find your marks in complete safety and freedom. Nevertheless, for your evolution, the Cruise has many inserts to learn to sail strapped with Y footstraps.

With the Cruise, no more infiltrations! The board is durable thanks to its hydrophobic foam core and carbon construction. These are materials that will withstand the vagaries of a board's life and will be perfectly repairable. Your Cruise will accompany you in your progress, but also over time!

The Cruise is "made in Europe", and we are proud to produce all our rigid boards in Portugal, in Peniche. Very close to our suppliers, all our raw materials, from carbon to pad, are European. There is bound to be an exception that proves the rule: boxes from the Future brand that bring a Californian touch to our board.

Our local production, close to our engineers and our shaper, allows us to be extremely efficient in R&D . This allows us to very quickly design, produce and test. We have chosen to invest almost exclusively in the innovation and quality of our boards, which explains our direct sales system: we control all our costs and you benefit from very competitive prices. But that's not all ! To make the practice of wing foil more accessible to everyone, we have decided to reduce our margins on our board for beginners, this Takoon Cruise, in order to offer you an even more amazing price to get you started.

Largest manufacturer of wing foil boards in Europe.

In order to produce extraordinary boards, we have set up our own manufacturing plant in Portugal. We are proud to be the biggest manufacturer in Europe and to offer our boards at attractive prices thanks to our direct sales model.

Usually, we recommend choosing a board about 40L bigger than your weight. That way, you will have a board with enough flotation for you to feel at ease and to be able to evolve serenely on a stable and comfortable board, even when standing still and kneeling.

We suggest the 100L Cruise 5'10 for young riders up to 75 kg; the Cruise 6'0 for those up to 85 kg; the Cruise 6'2 for aspiring wing foilers from 75 to 85 kg; and finally, the 130L Cruise 6'4 and the 140L Cruise 6'6 for bigger riders over 85 kg.

At Takoon, we offer Day Bags and Travel Bags suitable for protecting your board and travelling with your gear. We recommend 6'0 bags for boards 5'10 and 6'0.

The shape of our Cruise is the best compromise between ease of use and glide.

Neither too long nor too short, its dimensions and volumes have been optimised to offer you maximum stability, even when standing or kneeling. Its shape and tail ensure an excellent glide before a smooth take-off. Its beveled rails and light rocker also make the Cruise very forgiving of the multiple touches you make when you're just starting. The Cruise is designed with a hollow concave deck to get the rider closer to the foil. It lowers the rider's center of gravity for better stability and control of the board.

We achieved this ideal shape for our Cruise by using our high-quality full carbon construction. The magic happens in our factory in Portugal, using our vacuum-infused carbon technology.

Concerned about the environment, we select our raw materials with care. We pay attention to proximity and supplier sourcing while focusing on quality at the cutting edge of technology.

Our Cruise is manufactured with our vacuum infusion technique in our factory in Portugal, in Peniche, the surfing Mecca of Europe. We constantly challenge our production methods to produce more sustainable boards and respect our environment. We are proud to contribute to the local economy and to make long-term commitments to make our industry more environmentally responsible.

At Takoon, all our suppliers are European leaders in composite materials. The only exception is our Double Rail US Box: we have selected products from Futures, an American brand made in California, well known for their solidity and robustness.

No more decompression valves or infiltration: our Cruise is built around a foam pad of our Takoon design. We developed this hydrophobic foam to obtain unmatched mechanical properties and a compression ratio that we could not find elsewhere. The core of our boards is then made of this resistant, flexible, and water-resistant foam: in short, a durable and repairable board!

For an optimal resin/fibre ratio and to give our boards solidity and reactivity without fault, our Cruise is covered entirely in total carbon made in vacuum infusion. At Takoon, we decided to use this infusion technique, perfectly adapted for high-end products, a concern of performance and quality.

Used by the aerospace, aeronautics, and automotive industries, vacuum infusion of carbon is the future of the evolution of our industry. This technique consists of bagging the part, foam, and fibres, then evacuating the air from the bag to create a vacuum, and applying intense pressure on the board to ensure a perfect bonding of the layers. Next, tubes feed the resin into the bag, which is drawn through the carbon fibre and infused it. The vacuum pump immediately sucks out any excess resin, and the process can be stopped.

The result? A 60% reduction of the excess resin compared to hand lamination. The process does not waste any resin; a predictable amount is used for each board. There are no brushes, no rollers, and no splashes.

This vacuum infusion technique has many advantages over open lamination techniques: a better fibre-to-resin ratio; the amount of resin used is reduced due to the vacuum of pre-compacted fabric; the rider is less exposed to harmful emissions and enjoys a cleaner working environment, and the results are more robust and lighter boards.

Indeed, when you talk about an optimal fibre/resin ratio, you are talking about a board that is lighter than a traditional board, especially since, at Takoon, we have also optimised the weight of our boards through the choice of materials and accessories.

The Cruise benefits from a complete construction using carbon fibre and vacuum infusion, resulting in increased performance due to its gain in weight and stiffness. This construction provides a lively and reactive board that responds precisely to your inputs while also being durable and able to withstand the various challenges of a board's life. Additionally, it is perfectly repairable, and you can enjoy using it for a long time with proper maintenance!

Materials

The raw materials and equipment of the Cruise, from carbon fiber to the pad, are selected for their quality, but also for the proximity and sourcing of our suppliers.

Infusion

The Cruise is a full carbon vacuum infusion board. This technique allows us to obtain the best fiber/resin ratio and gives us an ultra-stiff, light and durable board.

Made in Europe

We are proud to produce all of our hardboards in Portugal, Peniche. The Cruise is “Made In Europe” since all our suppliers are European (with the exception of the US boxes from the Futures brand).

Equipment

Your Cruise board comes equipped with the best accessories to facilitate its use and improve your navigation comfort.

Our new multi-piece EVA pads will always offer you more grip and comfort underfoot or during take-off phases, while promising better water evacuation. 3.5mm thick, they also protect the board from shocks and give the Cruise a new stylish look.

The integrated and ergonomic carrying handle will facilitate your launches and your end of sessions. Positioned on the hull, it will allow you to carry your board and its foil with one hand, in order to leave the other free to carry your Wing.

To ensure the connection with your foil, the Cruise board is equipped with Double Rail US Box boxes from the high-quality Futures brand, themselves placed in a high-density foam reinforcement.

During your progress, you will surely want to try your hand at footstraps. For this, multiple strap inserts are available on the Cruise. We have Takoon straps in neoprene, single or V, sold as an option. These comfortable and lightweight footstraps will offer you excellent support and navigation comfort.

Our Takoon leash is a belt leash adjustable to your size, from 71 to 104cm. It has a coiled part (85cm extended) and a straight part (also 85cm). Sold as an option, this belt leash will allow you to ride with your feet free of the leash: you won't be able to step on it, or get your feet tangled with it. The must have for greater freedom of movement.

Your Cruise will be delivered to you in an eco-responsible and 100% recyclable Hexiflex protective sock, extremely resistant to compression, which you can reuse to protect your board during your next surf trips.
